Francis Howell High School Performance
February 1, 2012
BreakDown STL is performing at an assembly at Francis Howell High School on Wednesday, February 1, 2012. The assembly will deal with positive choices surrounding the issues of sexual integrity and relationships, as well as educate about possible outcomes and effects of risky choices regarding sex, alcohol and drugs.
BreakDown STL is the new generation of Edutainment, bringing a message of self-control and hope to a generation looking for the REAL thing. This fast paced, high-energy performance is designed specifically for this generation. This presentation tackles the tough issues of sexual abstinence until marriage, teen pregnancy, sexually transmitted diseases, second chances, self-esteem, teen relationships, violence, alcohol, drugs and much more. BreakDown STL uses several different approaches to addressing these issues. Through music, dance, drama, inspirational speaking, video and more teens are engaged, educated as well as entertained.

Breakdown stl really made me think twice about the decisions I have made in the past, it has really inspired me to change my ways and become a better person when it comes to sex, drugs and so on. I was very naive about watching this performance because I thought it would just be a bunch of adults telling us not to have sex or do drugs, but really it was amazing to have teens just like us talking about better choices, they really did a great job of capturing my attention. I know what it’s like to feel betrayed and depressed and I’ve had my fair share of being bullied and used. You really opened my eyes to what could happen to me if I let it go on. I was really emotional about the scuicide scene because I’ve had friends who have attempted scuicide and it’s so sad to see a young person take their own life because of words someone has said to them. I cannot thank you guys enough for this experience and I really hope this event opened up other teen’s minds and made them realize what they were doing was wrong. I now have respect for my body and myself and I will be abstinent from now until marriage. Thank you for changing my life and giving me the wakeup call I needed. Your team has forever changed my life!
I went to this today. It was so inspirational and amazing. The acting was fantastic, but the message was deep and motivational. Thank you for coming.
